Indonesia’s BeliMobilGue secures $30m, appoints ex-Ovo exec as new CEO
BeliMobilGue, an Indonesian online marketplace for used cars, has received a US$30 million commitment from Berlin-based joint venture partner Frontier Car Group for the next two years to help drive its growth in Southeast Asia.
The company has also appointed former Ovo executive Johnny Widodo as CEO to spearhead its expansion in Indonesia.

Widodo was part of the founding team at Ovo, where he led various functions including marketing, operations, analytics, and sales and partnerships.
With BeliMobilGue, the newly appointed CEO will oversee the creation of new partnerships and a number of strategic initiatives such as accelerated hiring efforts, operations, and service improvements. His experience at Ovo will also benefit BeliMobilGue as it pursues new lines of business, according to a statement.
“As CEO of BeliMobilGue.co.id, we will continue to work closely with dealers, customers, and business partners to better meet their needs, infusing local knowledge, relationships, and expertise with global resources and capital,” said Widodo.
BeliMobilGue was formed as a joint venture between Naspers and OLX-backed Frontier Car Group and Indonesia-only independent venture capital firm Intudo Ventures. Launched in April 2017, it claims to have a private network of more than 1,000 qualified buyers throughout the country.
