If you’re part of the crowd waiting for that meta-changing balance patch then you might want to look at the Dota 2 6.79 notes released earlier today.
You may or may not consider it a balance patch, but it as far as meta game-changing goes, this patch has a lot of potential. And I would also like to stress that at the time of writing, Dota 2 has been updated before WC3 DotA. Yes, there is no WC3 DotA 6.79 map at the time being.
Is WC3 DotA dying? This update doesn’t say that (at least not entirely), but it does have a lot of major changes to many aspects of the game including the jungle, warding, Roshan, and of course, heroes and items.
For instance, players will now think twice before buying back as it prevents gaining unreliable gold (creeps, neutrals, etc) until your normal respawn time finishes and adds 25% of the remaining respawn time to your next death. Roshan’s respawn time is now a random time between 8 and 11 minutes after death. Dewarding an Observer Ward gives you 50 gold while the Sentry ward no longer has permanent vision. Instead, it grants a ground vision in a 150 area for 12 seconds after being placed. Broodmother and Slark are out of Captain’s Mode. Oh, and Vengeful Spirit and Pudge can now use blink dagger. And these are just a few things.
Dota 2’s 6.79 lengthy and detailed update notes may be found in the Dota 2 Dev Forums. Players who are interested to try out the game with implemented changes may experience it in the test client before it is implemented in the regular client.
