Eratani, an Indonesia-based agritech startup, has raised 23 billion rupiah (around US$1.6 million) in a pre-seed round led by Trihill Capital. Kopital Network and Kenangan Fund, the VC firm established by the founders of local coffee chain Kopi Kenangan, also joined the fundraise.

Founded in 2021, Eratani helps farmers improve land efficiency, acquire farming supplies, manage their harvest, and get access to loans. The company said that since its launch, it has onboarded more than 5,000 farmers on Java Island.

Eratani was established by former Gojek executive Andrew Soeherman and ex-Oyo executive Kevin Juan Tanggo Laksono, along with Angles Gani.

The firm will use the fresh funding to expand to other regions in Java, Sumatera, and Kalimantan Island. Eratani also plans to continue developing its app and building out its supply chain infrastructure.

Other investors in this funding round include:

  • Kopi Kenangan co-founders Edward Tirtanata, James Prananto, and Cynthia Chaerunnisa
  • KoinWorks co-founder Benedicto Haryono
  • Wagely chief executive Tobias Fischer
  • Sociolla co-founder John Marco Rasjid
