MPGL Season 6 opens registration for the next leg of Super Street Fighter IV and Dota 2

Philippine players, gear up for one of the most popular Philippine tournaments as the Mineski Pro Gaming League (MPGL) Season 6 returns with the third leg of the Super Street Fighter IV (SSFIV) division and a Dota 2 online qualifiers.

Dota 2 players may now form teams and get some competitive action regardless of location in the MPGL 6-5’s Dota 2 online qualifiers on May 10. For aspiring amateur teams who are seriously looking to go pro, online tournaments are essential platforms for gaining competitive experience without having to shell out a lot of time and money to head over to LAN locations.

The winner of the online qualifiers will receive ten Dota 2 Lockless Luckboxes and a slot at the MPGL Dota 2 Class S tournament. The winning team, however, will no longer be eligible to join the Metro Manila and Rest of Philippines divisions for this leg.

Super Street Fighter IV

The first-ever fighting game division in the MPGL is looking promising in terms of growth, as the number of its participants have doubled since the first leg. On May 18, it returns on its third leg in partnership with Pinoy Versus and a base prize pool of PhP 2,500 ($56.41) added to the total registration fees . The prize distribution will be as follows:

• Champion – P1,500 ($33.84) and 50 percent of registration fees
• 2nd Place – P700 ($15.79) and 30 percent of registration fees
• 3rd Place – P300 ($15.79) and 20 percent of registration fees

At the moment, MPGL is hosting tournaments for four different titles—Super Street Fighter IV, Dota 2, Dragon Nest, and Assault Fire.
