SOSV picks 8 startups for latest Chinaccelerator cohort

The latest cohort of SOSV‘s Chinaccelerator brought in eight startups from Asia and Latin America, with accepted applicants securing US$150,000 in initial funding.

This batch’s participants come from Singapore, Pakistan, India, UAE, Korea, and Mexico. They also operate in the social commerce, esports, marketplace, supply chain and logistics, fintech, healthtech, and edtech spaces.

SOSV manages more than US$1.2 billion in assets with more than 1,000 firms under its portfolio. Chinaccelerator itself has accepted 170 startups from 25 countries in total, offering a life-long program to help startups reach profitability.

Earlier this year, SOSV led Hong Kong-based Bistrochat’s US$1 million round and backed Indonesia-based MyRobin’s fundraising.

Here are the eight startups from this cohort:

• EsportsXO (India): an e-sports SaaS platform that enables game publishers and brands to organize custom tournaments.
• InstaWorld (Pakistan): an ecommerce delivery solution that offers optimized last-mile deliveries and instant payout to retailers.
• Lorryz (UAE): a startup that connects cargo owners with trucking companies for on-demand transportation solutions.
• Major Map (Korea): an AI-backed startup for students in Korea looking for suitable colleges and majors.
• Midoconline (Mexico): an app that lets users have video consultations with trusted medical professionals globally
• MoveIt (Pakistan): a fleet management solution provider aiming to solve Pakistan’s intracity logistics problems.
• SmartBite (Singapore): a platform that offers tech-enabled B2B solutions for companies.
• Trikl (Pakistan): a personal finance app for millennials to save, invest, and play to earn.
