Indonesia’s Gojek and Vietnam’s MoMo, two super apps in their respective countries, have announced a partnership linking the latter’s e-wallet to the former’s app in Vietnam.

The partnership will see the pair combine their ecosystems and support the millions of Gojek users in the country across its ride-hailing, food delivery, and logistics services. This marks Gojek’s first time collaborating with a Vietnamese tech firm, said Duc Phung, general manager of Gojek Vietnam.
According to a statement, the integration of MoMo’s services is part of Gojek’s strategy to offer users more payment options on its app, following the launch of its card payment feature last year. The partnership will link Gojek to MoMo’s over 31 million users.
“Through this partnership, we also hope to help Gojek’s driver and merchant partners reach more customers, increase their income, and recover from the pandemic,” said Nguyen Ba Diep, co-founder and senior vice president of MoMo.

The partnership follows Gojek’s official launch of its GoCar car-hailing service in Vietnam in November 2021. Gojek also recently reshuffled its leadership team in the country, with two CEOs departing within less than two years.
