Comcept’s Mighty No.9 to use Unreal Engine, finale livestream on October 1

To those who have been really keen about seeing some in-game footage from Mighty No.9, there isn’t in-game video, but Comcept gives us the next best thing. In an update earlier today, the team has revealed that the engine to be used for Mighty No. 9 will be the Unreal Engine from Epic.

It’s the same engine used for Mass Effect, Bioshock, Infinite, Infinity Blade, and Gears of War. The Comcept team has released a really short 13-second video of how the game could look with the Unreal Engine. Bear in mind that this is a rough test made in a week in order to test how the engines work.

Also, the team announced that there’ll be a finale livestream straight from Comcept’s Tokyo HQ on October 1 (Tuesday) at 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. PDT, which is 6 a.m. to 9 a.m on Wednesday for Singaporeans. The livestream will feature the team behind Mighty No. 9 with interviews, viewer Q&A, and the announcement of the Call poll winner. And speaking of Call, she will now be a playable character on an all-new, single-player level that even includes a boss fight.

More information will be posted on the game’s Kickstarter page, Twitter account, and Facebook page.
