Didi among 4 firms warned for unfair practices by China

Didi, Kuaigou Dache, Lalamove, and Full Truck Alliance have been pressured by China’s ministry of transport to become more transparent, the government agency posted on WeChat.

On July 8, an interview between the ministry and the four freight platform firms occurred, detailing problems such as unfairly low competitive pricing, which has “damaged the legitimate rights and interests of truck drivers.”

The ministry suggested that these companies focus on regulating their platforms and end safety hazards such as exceeding weight limits, carrying illegal passengers, and moving contraband items. More comprehensive disclosures regarding fees and a stronger focus on reinforcing the rights of the firms’ truck drivers were also discussed.

Didi was previously barred from registering new users on its platform and had its apps taken off stores in Chin. In June, it delisted from the New York Stock Exchange. 11 months after it went public.
