Guess what songs from Romancing Saga are going into Final Fantasy Theatrhythm?

Being a short train ride away from my home in Japan, the Saga prefecture has always had a place in my heart. Unfortunately though, Saga gets very little love, and even fewer visitors. However Square Enix might just change all that by revitalizing the popular Romancing Saga series.

Romancing Saga is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and has set up a teaser site for what appears to be a whole new game with an old-school 16-bit look. The site introduces the game, shows pictures, and has characters moving across the screen. You can click on the characters to read their short biographies.

Romancing Saga

The team at Square Enix seems to be determined to capture the essence of Saga, and have even taken a trip to the prefecture to study the culture and art that it is famous for.

Additionally, Square Enix has announced that Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy Curtain Call will feature two songs from the original Romancing Saga for Nintendo. Theatrhythm is already set to feature over 200 songs from the Final Fantasy series, and now has a battle anthem and a field anthem from Romancing Saga. Check out the introduction video for those songs:
