Bruno Araujo: Growing iMoney into a regional player (Manila meetup)

How do you transform a business into a multimillion-dollar company in just two years? Many entrepreneurs would only dream of it. Bruno Araujo, however, did just that when he built Malaysian startup iMoney into a leading online personal finance platform in the region.
Armed with his strong background in retail banking and having held senior leadership positions at banks such as CIMB, Citi, Egg and RBS, Araujo and his partner Lee Ching Wei put up a business with the interest of consumers at heart.
Through its websites, iMoney compares loans, credit cards, savings and other products and services of banking institutions, promising its users an unbiased viewpoint to help them in their financial choices.
iMoney was established in Kuala Lumpur in 2012. It raised funds from Asia Venture Group middle of 2013, and has since expanded to five markets: Singapore, Hong Kong Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
With a consumer base of 450 million and 1.5 million monthly visitors, iMoney now has a valuation of US$20 million.
So how did Araujo and his partner do it? Come October 23, 5 pm to 6:30 pm, to the Tech in Asia Manila meetup and know more about the iMoney story โ the challenges its founders faced and lessons they learned.
The meetup will be co-hosted by Kickstart Ventures and will be followed by Kickstartโs monthly networking event Raid The Fridge.
