In brief: Stripe to open Singapore hub following $245m fundraise
Payments infrastructure company Stripe announced today a US$245 million round of new funding, valuing the company at US$20 billion.
To enable native buying experiences around the world, the company is building a distributed global engineering team. Adding to existing engineering hubs in San Francisco, Seattle, and Dublin, Stripe today is also announcing a new global engineering hub in Singapore.

The US-based payments firm said it expects 500 million people in Southeast Asia and India to be online over the next three years, and wants to help businesses tap the opportunity this presents.
It will use the latest funding to scale engineering talent globally, enhance the capabilities of its international payments and treasury network, and build new enterprise features aimed at larger businesses.
Tiger Global, DST Global, and Sequoia Capital co-led the round.
