Ninja Van’s latest round of job cuts has mostly hit junior roles across its tech offices in Indonesia and Vietnam, as well as 5% of junior tech positions in Singapore.

The logistics startup announced the cuts at a compulsory meeting called for tech staff on Monday (July 1). A source said that the head count in all tech departments would be slashed. After the meeting, affected employees received calendar invites to discuss the news.

This is Ninja Van’s second round of layoffs following an internal review, said a spokesperson for the company.

“Unfortunately, despite our efforts to minimize impact, we were unable to avoid layoffs impacting 5% of our colleagues in Singapore,” the spokesperson. said

In April, the company laid off about 10% of its tech division. All affected employees in that round were based in Singapore.

Some of those who are staying on have been moved into roles to support Ninja Van’s newly launched business units. The logistics startup has expanded into other verticals such as the cold chain and B2B restock segments under a diversification plan for long-term growth.
