EQuest Education Group, a Vietnam-based education firm, has secured US$120 million in debt from an undisclosed creditor and equity funding from existing investor KKR via its Global Impact Fund.

In 2021, EQuest also raised US$100 million from the US investment major, marking the biggest deal in Vietnam’s edtech sector that year.

Founded in 2013, EQuest said it currently serves 110,000 students across four core segments: K-12 schools, tertiary and vocational institutions, English courses, and digital learning.

Funding details

  • Funding amount: US$120,000,000
  • Investors: KKR (Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co)
  • Stage: Debt and equity

The firm will use the fresh funds to strengthen its offline K-12 education as well as college and university systems, particularly targeting Vietnamese students who want to complete a US undergraduate program at more affordable prices.
