Binance Australia names former head of publicly listed blockchain firm as CEO

Binance Australia, a unit of the world’s biggest cryptocurrency exchange in terms of daily trading volume, announced the appointment of Leigh Travers as CEO.

Experience:

• Travers is a former director and CEO of DigitalX, the world’s first publicly listed blockchain technology firm. He has spent the last seven years at the company building products and growing its network.
• Prior to joining DigitalX, he served on the board of industry body Blockchain Australia for over five years.

• At Binance Australia, Travers will focus on developing the brand and the company’s working ties with regulators.
• “From an industry perspective, I know it’s imperative that we continue to develop our relationships with regulatory bodies while reinforcing our company commitment to compliance and best practice,” Travers said in a statement.
