Hong Kong mall launches metaverse shopping

The Times Square mall in Hong Kong is bringing its shopping experience to the virtual world through a partnership with Bunny Warriors, an NFT collection based on the Solana blockchain, and AiR Metaverse, a tech startup that has created a digital version of Hong Kong, reported the South China Morning Post.

AiR has recreated the city in its metaverse, wherein users can own digital properties. The Times Square mall is expected to be the first local shopping center in AiR’s virtual version of Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, Bunny Warriors is an NFT project that supports digital art and collectibles. Shoppers during a month-long exhibition in the Times Square mall can access the company’s blockchain game and win NFTs along with other limited-edition items, UltCube88 reported. The exhibition runs from April 21 to May 29.

AiR CEO and co-founder Terence Chow said his startup is in talks with real estate developers and property agencies for more metaverse projects.
