Airtel Photo Lets Users Print Facebook Photos

India-based telco, bharti airtel has partnered with Zoomin.com to launch ‘airtel Photo.’

This service allows airtel broadband customers in India to import Facebook photos or upload from their computers and store them in the cloud with no storage limit and at no cost.

Users can also customize the designs by adding photo album (or book, see right) design theme and captions. The service doesn’t just end at online. Users can print the photos and get them delivered to their door.

If the printed photo album is a gift, users could also include add-ons like t-shirts, mugs, and calendar with photos printed on them (see left). There’s no credit card hassle as the charges will be reflected on users’ monthly postpaid bill. Depending on users’ need, the price could range from US$1.50 to $13.50.

“The launch of airtel Photos is in line with our commitment to enrich the lives of our customers with broadband. airtel has always led the way in partnering industry leaders for bringing in innovative services for customers. By providing choice and convenience, airtel Photos will enable our customers to cherish and celebrate life and relationships like never before,” said Mr. Girish Mehta, Chief Marketing Officer, Telemedia Services, bharti airtel.

On a side note, it is interesting that airtel and Zoomin.com chose Facebook over Flickr. At least in India, Facebook seems to have overtaken Flickr as the preferred destination for photos. As user base grows, Facebook can be anything it wants to be: A Foursquare, Flickr or even a Groupon.
