Bhanzu, an India-based edtech firm that focuses on teaching math, has raised US$15 million in an Eight Roads Ventures-led series A funding, which saw participation from B Capital’s Ascent Fund.

Founded in 2020, Bhanzu is a math-learning platform for students between the ages of six and 16. The curriculum has beem personally curated by its founder Neelakantha Bhanu, who is famous for being the world’s fastest human calculator, the company said in a statement.
Last year, the firm raised US$2 million in seed funding led by Lightspeed Venture Partners to scale up its live virtual classes and accelerate hiring. The company currently has more than 400 employees.
Bhanzu plans to use the fresh funding for global expansion, product development, content building, and hiring. It also wants to develop content in multiple languages to cater to demand from other countries in Asia.
