It’s Monday and you’re back to work for the next five days. You need a pick-me-up, and we’ve got just the thing: stop-motion Mario.
Youtuber and game maker Guiz De Pessemier is looking to recreate the first few stages of the original Super Mario Bros. for the NES as a stop motion video using nothing but Hama beads. Hama beads, also known as Perler beads, can be fused together by applying heat and pressure to make interesting designs, and in this case scenes from Super Mario Bros. Unfortunately this will be a financially-massive undertaking as Hama beads are not cheap, so Guiz has taken to Kickstarter to make this stop motion dream a reality.
He has already reached his first goal of $300 and is now looking to add more levels if donations keep coming. If the Kickstarter reaches $2,000 by March 22, 2014, he will even include the boss fight with Bowser.
Check out his Kickstarter to hear more about his project. And as for the promised pick-me-up, take a look at his previous stop motion work with Donkey Kong.
