Funding round-up from India: Droom, GrowthEnabler, Cartisan, Pragmatix

Over US$5 billion of venture capital funding flowed into Indian startups last year. This year, the deals are coming thicker and faster. So we thought it would be useful to start a daily digest of startup funding in India.

Here’s today’s funding round-up:

Droom

Droom, a Mumbai-based automobile marketplace, raised US$15.6 million in series A funding led by Light Box Ventures along with BEENOS, a Japanese firm. The startup was founded earlier this year by Sandeep Aggarwal.

GrowthEnabler

GrowthEnabler, co-headquartered in Bangalore and London, raised US$781,000 from five undisclosed investors. The startup was founded in 2014 by Rajeev Banduni, Aftab Malhotra, and Lars Villabaek. GrowthEnabler provides advisory and mentoring services to startups and aspiring entrepreneurs.

Cartisan

Cartisan, a Bangalore-based startup raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Indian cricketer, Yuvraj Singh’s YouWeCan Ventures and TaxiForSure co-founder Aprameya Radhakrishna. The startup helps car owners locate and book the nearest car service providers through its app.

Cartisan is owned by Xenon Automotive, which was founded last year by Venkat Sreeram, Rajat Patni, Sharad Murthy, and Pete Bulley.

Pragmatix

Pragmatix, a Mumbai and New York-based startup, raised US$2.4 million from SIDBI Venture Capital. It is a business intelligence and enterprise analytics firm that was co-founded in 2011 by Alok Rastogi, V Dinesh, Ashish Vora, and Ramesh Lakshminarayanan.
