Sogou CEO steps down after completion of Tencent merger

• Head chief Wang Xiaochuan broke the news in an internal email. He is set to become a consultant of Tencent.
• Starting today, all of Sogou’s employees will join Tencent, with their salaries and benefits to be adjusted to align with the internet giant’s system.
• The two companies completed their US$3.5 billion merger deal in September, making Sogou a subsidiary of Tencent.

Alibaba’s workplace app reaches 500m users

• DingTalk said it grew its user base from 400 million to 500 million between January and August.
• The Alibaba-developed app added that it had more than 19 million institutional users, such as enterprises and schools, by the end of August.
• Meanwhile, WeChat Work previously said it had 130 million active users from 5.5 million enterprises and organizations as of the beginning of 2021.
