The second day of All-Star 2014 was a tough day for Chinese OMG fans, and probably an even tougher day for the players themselves, but Chinese website Duowan still managed to snag a quick interview with OMG jungler Pomelo before he headed off to train and rest for tomorrow’s semifinals. Heres’ what he had to say:
Duowan: OMG’s group stage matches are all over now; who do you think was the toughest opponent from your first four games?
Pomelo: The hardest was still SKT, they played even smarter than C9 did. SKT put a lot more jungle pressure and had more vision control on me than C9 did. They wouldn’t let me invade easily, every time I tried I could feel them disappearing from the lanes to come and protect their territory.
What do you think about your own performance in that match?
It was just OK; mostly we still had problems with our tactical execution. Going into the game with SKT we suddenly decided to try to be entertaining, and didn’t use the tactics and team composition that we had prepared.
What do you think is the biggest problem you need to address for the semifinals tomorrow?
Mostly our tactical execution, we need to be more firm [in sticking to our tactics].
With regard to Allen not shaking SKT’s hands [after the match], do you have anything you want to help Allen tell his fans?
Mostly it was that at the time Allen was still lost in thought about the match that had just happened, and normally in the LPL when we shake hands the opponent will tap you on the shoulder if you’re spacing out, but SKT’s players maybe didn’t do that. We also want to express our sincere apologies.
