Korean MMO Aion celebrates second birthday in Europe with some impressive stats

Iโ€™ve argued before that South Koreaโ€™s game devs need to start sharing the wealthโ€”their awesome gamesโ€”with the rest of the world. And over the weekend, NCSoftโ€˜s MMORPG Aion celebrated the second anniversary of its launch in Europe with some stats that would seem to support my argument. Seriously, when you can put up numbers like this, what excuse is there not to localize your games for other markets?

The original infographic is arranged as a desktop background; we chopped it up to make the embed above, but if youโ€™d like to see the original itโ€™s here.

I hope that as Korean games like Aion continue to find audiences outside Korea, weโ€™ll see more and more games getting localized and exported. With cool stuff like Blade & Soul, Bless, and Black Desert on the menu, Iโ€™m tired of having to wait years for releases outside Korea!
