Asiasoft users will soon get free internet security software

Asiasoft users in Southeast Asia will soon enjoy free internet protection via China’s Qihoo. Qihoo is best known for its 360 internet security software suite, which safeguards the internet security of PC, Mac, and Android platforms.

As a longstanding and reputable publisher, Asiasoft hasn’t had many complaints of hacks or viruses being transmitted via its software, so partnering with Qihoo is an interesting move on its part, given the company’s slightly-more-controversial reputation in China.

Asiasoft chairman Sherman Tan said the company was “pleased” to enter in an agreement with Qihoo and believes its internet security technology will provide superior internet security services to Southeast Asian users.

Qihoo 360 present Qi Xiangdong, on the other hand, feels the partnership is an important part of Qihoo’s development strategy in Southeast Asia.

The 360 Safeguard software from Qihoo is free to download, so it looks like this agreement is skewed in favor of Qihoo. It’ll be interesting to see how it’s going to work out to Asiasoft’s benefit.
