Mark Zuckerberg gives speech in Chinese about having a strong sense of mission

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg was at Beijing’s Tsinghua University on Saturday where he gave a 22-minute speech entirely in Chinese. Speaking to an auditorium full of people at the prestigious university, he talked about having a sense of a mission when building the social network. The full speech is in the video embed below, as posted to Facebook by Zuckerberg himself. It has received nearly 80,000 likes and 1.8 million views since it was uploaded about 20 hours earlier.

“When I started Facebook, I did not want to build a business. I wanted to solve a problem I thought was important. I wanted to help connect people. When I look at great Chinese companies today like Alibaba and Xiaomi, I see the same story,” he says. “When you have a mission, it helps you focus.”

Zuckerberg first wheeled out his fledgling Chinese skills at the same forum exactly a year ago.
