Singapore-based Active AI has created an AI-powered banking chatbot that you can talk to in Facebook Messenger for common tasks like paying bills or checking your balance. If your bank makes use of Active AI’s bot, you’ll be able to jump into the messaging app to do things like view your recent transactions, transfer money to buddies, and even get a temporary raise in your credit card limit.
2. IsItUp.com | Malaysia (Startup Profile)
IsItUp.com provides a software-as-a-service that allows companies to manage their fixed asset inventory in the cloud. The startup provides its clients with QR code or RFID asset tags, which employees can simply scan to retrieve information related to an asset.
3. SoCash | Singapore (Startup Profile)
Singaporean fintech startup SoCash turns any business into an ATM, allowing users to withdraw cash from a merchant’s till just like they would from their banks’ automated tellers. The startup uses your bank’s mobile app to let you transfer an amount to the merchant’s bank account. Then you can pick up the amount in cash at that outlet.
4. Zefo | India (Startup Profile)
Based in Bangalore, Zefo is an online marketplace for used or returned goods and factory seconds. It also tapping into the rise in returned goods by tying up with ecommerce sites. The startup claims it is currently growing at 40 percent month-on-month, and selling 400-500 products a day.
5. Helpster | Thailand (Startup Profile)
Bangkok-based Helpster finds temporary and permanent blue-collar employees for businesses. It sorts through applicants who fill in data through the app. It then matches them to companies looking for help. Employers receive a list of suitable workers from Helpster before assigning them tasks to complete. Workers then get assigned tasks and report to their employers via the Helpster app.
6. Stasis Labs | India (Startup Profile)
Stasis Labs’s cloud-connected vitals monitoring system sits at the bedside of the patient and monitors six different vital signs – heart rate, blood oxygen, 3-lead ECG, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and body temperature. Everything is driven by software, removing as much as possible from the hardware and it makes it more cost-effective and easier to update.
