Square Enix releases another Story from the City video to promote Thief

In an attempt to spur on interest for the multi-platform release of Thief, Square Enix is making a series of stylized trailers that set up the characters and setting in a rather unique fashion. I’m not sure how many will be released leading up to the game’s February 28, 2014 launch, but the second trailer was posted last night and boy was it intriguing.

The first of these trailers was released over a month ago, and focused on a well connected ex-safe-cracker named Basso. Basso now finds thieving jobs for the story’s main character Garrett, and also may be the antihero’s only friend.
 

The newest trailer, titled “Queen of Beggars Sees All,” introduces a wise, possibly all knowing, blind woman referred to as the Queen of the Beggars. Not much is known about her aside from the fact that she proceeds over the “Beggar’s Court” and that she may see through the eyes of rats. All I know is she does one heck of a job narrating this trailer.
