Arc System Works releases latest Guilty Gear title’s arcade opening video
Guilty Gear fans rejoice, Arc System works released the opening video for the arcade version of Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- yesterday on Youtube. Take a look!
Typical to game openings, this intro shows much of Xrd’s plot, or lack of it. But more importantly, the video showcases the current playable character roster. The roster is composed of 13 characters, including:
- Zato-1
- Millia Rage
- Venom
- Slayer
- Faust
- Potemkin
- Ky Kiske
- Chipp Zanuff
- Axl Low
- May
- I-no
- Bedman
- Sol Bad Guy
As you can see, the list is made up of many of the series’ most popular character, but does include one new fighter named Bedman. This new character, as his name may suggest, fights while attached to some kind of robotic bed. He seems to even be sleeping during the fight.
Guilty Gear Xrd – Sign- is set a year after its predecessor Guilty Gear 2: Overture and based on the intro, there’s a new antagonist this time around. Guilty Gear Creator, Daisuke Ishiwatari, is back on helm with Xrd, and his team has switched to using the 3D cel-shaded graphics style in place of 2D sprites and cel animation the title is known for. It looks like we are in for quite a ride with Xrd.
The arcade version is set to be released this year, and will later be ported onto the Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 as well.
