Psycho Break (The Evil Within) gets Asia release dates, and pre-order swag
The heart-stopping Psycho Break, better known in English-speaking territories as The Evil Within, all but made us pee our pants when we watched its trailer last year. And it’s now ready to dish out some cardiac arrest, with a newly-announced release date of October 15.
The game will be priced at S$74.90 (about $60) for both Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 platforms, regardless of physical or digital editions.

However, the Traditional Chinese edition, releasing on the same date, will have a ten percent discount on its digital edition for Playstation Plus members. It’s unfortunately also priced the same. This offer will be valid between October 15 to 28.
If you’re hoping to pinch some pennies, the Traditional Chinese edition might be worth it, as the original English audio will remain intact; only the game’s text and menu will be localized. Pre-orders of either language’s editions will net you an original soundtrack, which will come shaped like this:
Early purchases of the game will also come with the “Fighting Chance Pack”, a collection of downloadable content that will include:
- a medical kit
- a double barrel shotgun
- an incendiary agony bolt
- a poison agony bolt
- green gel
All customers who pick up a copy of the game for either platform or a Playstation 4 console between September 25 and October 19 will stand to win a pair of tickets to Universal Studios Singapore’s Halloween Horror Nights showcase. With just 50 pairs of tickets to be won, and a player base that’s psyched for horror maestro Shinji Mikami’s first title from Tango Gameworks, you’d best move fast!
