Application deadlines for TGS 2014 Indie Game Area extended. They are also free!

If you’re an indie, exhibiting at the Tokyo Game Show 2014 is now free, thanks to Sony Computer Entertainment. The industry giant has decided to live up to its mantra of “Playstation loves indies” by footing 100 percent of the exhibition bill at Tokyo Game Show 2014’s Indie Game Area.

This follows a sponsorship of the convention’s Sense of Wonder Night indie game competition.

The deadline to apply for exhibiting at the Indie Game Area has also been extended until June 11, 2014, Wednesday, to allow more indies to take part. A total of fifty booth spaces will be allocated, up from 41 game developers last year. However, the Tokyo Game Show organizers have also said via press release that many applications have already been accepted.

The Sense of Wonder Night 2014 contest has also had its deadline extended; indie developers will now be able to submit their games up until July 7, 2014, Monday. Only a total of ten titles will be selected for this exhibition.

A total of 270,197 visitors attended Tokyo Game Show last year, according to VG24/7, so if you’re looking to get your game out to an enthusiastic and gaming-focused audience, this might just be the event for you. More information on applications can be found on the Tokyo Game Show’s official website.
