Just months after its launch, Indonesia’s Orderfaz said that it has raised fresh money in a funding round led by Singapore-based VC firm 1982 Ventures, the sole investor.

Orderfaz, which was founded in January and soft-launched in March, caters to the needs of Indonesian social commerce sellers, CEO and co-founder Reynaldi Gandawidjaja tells Tech in Asia.

Funding details

  • Funding amount: Undisclosed
  • Lead investor: 1982 Ventures
  • Stage: Pre-seed

Its browser plug-in streamlines the purchasing process with a one-click checkout feature. The firm also empowers sellers to mitigate fraud risks by tracking the purchase history of authenticated buyers.

“Our main goal is to become the evangelist of digital marketing and sales,” says Gandawidjaja.

The social commerce enabler charges a 3% transaction fee. Through a smart WhatsApp keyboard feature, Orderfaz also helps sellers review order lists, send invoices, and share checkout links with buyers, all through the messaging app’s interface.

Orderfaz said it attracted 600 sign-ups within two months of its launch. One of the social commerce firms it has collaborated with is Sastro Utama Media Group.

The new funds will go toward hiring talent to drive platform development and market expansion. Orderfaz plans to expand to other markets in Southeast Asia by next year, Gandawidjaja says.
