Antler, a global VC firm focusing on early-stage startups, has appointed Warung Pintar co-founder Agung Bezharie Hadinegoro as its new partner.

Hadinegoro will lead Antler’s investment strategy and operations in Indonesia, where the VC plans to invest in more than 30 companies this year.

In 2017, he co-founded and became CEO of local microretail startup Warung Pintar, which was acquired by ecommerce enabler Sirclo in 2022.

“Having experienced the exhilarating journey of building and scaling Warung Pintar, I am now fueled with a fervent desire to support and invest in other visionary entrepreneurs,” he said in a statement.

To date, the VC firm has invested in more than 792 companies across 25 cities worldwide, resulting in a cumulative portfolio value of US$3.7 billion.

It will host its next residency program in Indonesia this October. The program will give founders the opportunity to win funding from Antler at the pre-seed stage or beyond.

In June 2023, it closed its US$285 million emerging growth Antler Elevate. It also aims to participate in 100 investment deals in Southeast Asia this year.
