Animoca bolsters management, names ex-Gemini exec as new CFO
Blockchain gaming unicorn Animoca Brands has announced a new line of senior appointments, including a new CFO in Jared Shaw, who is a former executive of US-based crypto exchange Gemini.

In his new role, Shaw will direct the strategic financial direction of Animoca Brands and its portfolio of over 380 companies.
Aside from Gemini, Shaw has also worked in Ernst & Young, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, and Prudential Financial.
Animoca Brands’ other new hires include May Szeto as group HR director, Jamii Quoc as head of legal for commercial and M&A, Samuel Tse as M&A director, and Josh Du as head of digital assets portfolio.
According to their LinkedIn profiles, these executives will be based in Hong Kong, where the company is headquartered.

“As our business expands, we will need to deliver at world class standards with HR, strengthen legal, thoughtfully run our M&A, and manage our diversified digital assets with the utmost professionalism,” said Evan Auyang, group president of Animoca Brands.
The new hires follow the blockchain firm’s US$110 million fundraise in September, which saw participation from investors such as Temasek and GGV Capital.
