Former TikTok gaming boss kicks off new blockchain firm
Jason Fung, the former boss of TikTok’s gaming arm, is setting up his own blockchain firm. Fung will be one of the two co-founders of Meta0, which aims to help developers build Web3 games, Reuters reported.
Meta0 will offer “a more interoperable option” for game builders, who are usually constrained to a single blockchain. Fung said that the startup has finished its first round of funding, but he kept the name of the other co-founder under wraps and didn’t offer details about the six other members of the founding team.
“With a protocol that we’re developing, developers can easily build their game-leveraging strengths of different blockchains, and allow the user the flexibility of transferring their NFTs cross-chain,” Fung told Reuters.
Before his two-year stint at Tiktok, Fung worked at Alibaba as an esports executive and headed competitive gaming for Electronic Arts.
