The acquisition, which is subject to certain conditions, will help Animoca Brands and WePlay Media integrate the Revv ecosystem of racing games with the latter’s products to deliver play-and-earn opportunities, develop existing partnerships, and form new partnerships to improve fan engagement.
MotoGP Championship Quest, the official MotoGP racing game, was launched in 2017, and has over 50 million downloads on mobile platforms, with nearly 1.2 million monthly active users globally.
Following the acquisition deal, Graeme Warring, chief operating officer of WePlay Media, will lead WePlay Media and will drive MotoGP projects, working with Animoca Brands’ Revv Motorsport team, which operates the blockchain game MotoGP Ignition.

“The acquisition of WePlay Media will boost our engagement with fans of the amazing sport of MotoGP, unlocking powerful exposure in both the metaverse and traditional gaming,” said Animoca chair Yat Siu.
In June, Animoca Brands partnered with Dorna Sports to become the title sponsor of the MotoGP in Australia and Aragon in 2022 and 2023. The latest deal with WePlay Media will allow Animoca Brands to expand its partnership with Dorna Sports as a sponsor, NFT licensor, provider of collectible cards, and blockchain game developer and publisher.
