Meet Kia Silverbrook, one of the most prolific inventors in history, on “The Essence of Disruptive Technologies”

With more than 4,400 granted US patents and more than 9,700 patents or patent applications internationally, Kia Silverbrook is one of the most prolific inventors in history. Silverbrook has founded companies and developed products in a wide range of disciplines, including computer graphics, video and audio production, scientific computing, factory automation, digital printing, liquid crystal displays (LCDs), molecular electronics, internet software, content management, genetic analysis, MEMS devices, security inks, photovoltaic solar cells, and interactive paper.

His inventions cover a wide variety of advanced technologies, including integrated circuit (chip) architecture, internet commerce, computer graphics, cryptography, digital music synthesis, digital paper, digital printing, digital video, DNA analysis, fault tolerance, image processing, lab-on-a-chip, liquid crystal displays, mechanical engineering, MicroElectroMechanical systems, microfluidics, 3D fabrication, nanotechnology, organic chemistry, parallel processing, polymers, robotics, semiconductor fabrication and sensors.
