Singapore hotel management startup gets $3.7m from Wavemaker, others
Singapore-based Zuzu Hospitality Solutions today announced it has raised a US$3.7 million series A round led by Wavemaker Partners. The round, which was closed in Q4 2018, will fund the startup’s plan to expand to Thailand, Malaysia, and Australia.
Existing investors Golden Gate Ventures, Convergence Ventures, and Alpha JWC Ventures participated in the round. New investors Access Ventures and Line Ventures also joined in.
Before the new injection, Zuzu’s last funding was a US$2 million seed round in 2017.

Zuzu offers an outsourced yield management solution for independent hotels. It uses a proprietary hotel operating system and expertise from specialist revenue managers to help increase a hotel’s online revenue. The startup claims its solution can increase revenue by 30 percent.
Founded in 2016, Zuzu has operations in Indonesia, Taiwan, and Singapore. With the cash infusion, it is looking to expand further into Asia Pacific. According to Zuzu, there are more than 300,000 independent hoteliers globally. Thailand alone has 10,000 independent hotels, and both Malaysia and Australia have 5,000 each, making them good options for expansion.
The startup has appointed Expedia alumni Jake Coleiro and Prae Wattanalapa as country managers for Australia and Thailand, respectively.
