Flash Express, a Thailand-based ecommerce logistics unicorn, said that it will employ 7,000 more people for its corporate, network, and logistics operations in the Philippines by the end of 2021. It currently has 3,000 employees in the country.
It is also looking to increase the number of its distribution centers in the country from 138 to 300 by the end of the year.
The logistics startup entered the Philippines in August with its full services already available but only formally launched today. It offers free parcel pickups, next day and weekend deliveries, and tiered services for business-to-business, business-to-consumer, and consumer-to-consumer customers.

It recently entered a partnership deal with Lazada Philippines to fulfill the ecommerce giant’s deliveries through the logistics firm’s hub.
“Now that we are done establishing our Express services, we are gearing toward making Flash Home available and operational to complement our Express services as we also prepare to offer more of our businesses under Flash Group,” said John de Guzman-Tarampi, general manager of Flash Express Philippines.
The company’s parent firm hit unicorn status after raising US$150 million in its combined series D+ and E rounds in June.
Flash Express also entered the Laos market in September by partnering with AIF Group Laos to create a local entity, Flash Laos.
