Indonesia’s Ajaib introduces Bored Ape NFT as mascot
Indonesia-based investment app Ajaib has unveiled its new mascot: Bored Ape Yacht Club non-fungible token #2831. This is the country’s first NFT brand ambassador, according to the fintech unicorn.
The mascot will appear in all of Ajaib’s campaigns as it aims to educate consumers on cryptocurrency assets and blockchain technology.

The company recently introduced Ajaib Kripto, a crypto-trading feature that has already received approval from Indonesia’s Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency. Prior to the launch, the platform offered only exchanges of stocks and mutual funds.
The NFT mascot shows that Ajaib is committed to supporting Indonesia’s adoption of the metaverse and Web3, a company spokesperson said.
Investing in crypto has become popular among Indonesians, with over 12.4 million investors across the country, according to Ajaib.

The Bored Ape Yacht Club tokens have become a pop culture phenomenon in recent years. Not only have celebrities endorsed these collectibles, but big brands such as Gucci have also collaborated with their creators. The NFT has also been featured on the digital cover of Rolling Stone magazine.
Ajaib was founded by Anderson Sumarli and Yada Piyajomkwan in 2019. After the company raised a US$153 million series B round in October 2021, it became the seventh startup in Indonesia to achieve unicorn status.
