Crypto exchange major Binance is also boarding the AI hype train with the announcement of Bicasso.
Unlike the great painter Picasso, whose works required talent and time, Bicasso can mint photos – which it produces through text and image prompts – as NFTs, generating the tokens within seconds.
The new service is still in beta. Minting was limited to only 10,000 NFTs, which have already been exhausted. For now, users are greeted by a prompt to join a waitlist for Bicasso’s next appearance.
It was only available on web browsers and appears to have been inaccessible to users in the US.
The release of Bicasso comes against the backdrop of several regulatory challenges for the crypto major, including a clampdown on Binance USD, its stablecoin in the US.
This has prompted the exchange to explore stablecoins pegged to other currencies. Coinbase, Binance’s top competitor, also announced that it will be stopping Binance USD trades from March 13.
Binance boss Changpeng Zhao recently took to Twitter to distance itself from FTX. The series of posts came in response to a Forbes article that drew parallels between the two.
