Indian edtech firm Questt banks $1.35m in seed money
“Questt, a school homework app, said it has raised 96 million rupees (US$1.35 million) in a seed round funding led by Chiratae Ventures, AET Fund, and entrepreneurs that include Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal (co-founders of Snapdeal), Pranay Gupta (founder of 91 Springboard), Ramakant Sahrama (LivSpace), First Cheque, and the founders of Razorpay,” Livemint reported.

- The startup said it plans to use the funds to onboard more users, add new functionalities to its app, and hire more talent.
- Questt claims it has over 40 schools in India on its network and that its platform has answered more than 1 million questions within 50 days of its launch.
Context:
- Its platform automates homework assessment to help teachers save time and gamifies assignments for students.
- According to the report, countries such as the US and China are already capitalizing on the market demand for assessment tools and data-driven processes, with India expected to follow within three to four years.
