The US aerospace industry is expected to cross US$218 billion by 2032, while India’s is projected to touch US$70 billion by 2030.
Jeh Aerospace, an India-based aerospace and defence manufacturing startup, has positioned itself between both regions to snap up the growing market opportunity. The startup just raised over US$2.7 million in seed funding in a round led by General Catalyst.
Aerospace industry veterans, including former Boeing India president Pratyush Kumar and former Airbus India CEO Dwarakanath Srinivasan, participated as angel investors.
Co-founded by former Tata aerospace executives Vishal R Sanghavi and Venkatesh Mudragalla in 2022, Jeh Aerospace offers manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain management solutions to the global aerospace and defence industry. It specializes in aero structure and aero engine components and assembly.
Anand Chandrasekaran, partner at General Catalyst, noted in a statement that Jeh Aerospace is focused on addressing “critical challenges faced by Tier 2 and 3 aerospace suppliers in the US through leveraging India’s dynamic labor pool and manufacturing strengths in the India-US corridor.”
The fresh funds will be deployed to build aerospace infrastructure and hire a team to serve global aerospace customers.
