Australian fintech platform secures $21.4m in series C funding round

Shaype, an Australia-based fintech firm, has raised US$21.4 million in a series C funding round led by Regal Funds Management.

Founded in 2018, Shaype helps financial institutions create transaction accounts linked to Visa cards for their users. The company also provides various financial functions such as card payments, wallets, tokenization, know-your-customer services, as well as fraud and money laundering detection.

The company was established by former hedge fund manager Andrew Laycock. It currently has 100 employees, and it has offices in Sydney, London, Belfast, Glasgow, and Warsaw.

Shaype plans to use the fresh funding for hiring and international expansion purposes. The firm added that before the end of this year, it will launch new solutions for companies in the financial, HR, property, and government sectors.
