Sociolla’s revenue jumps 71% in 2025 ahead of potential listing
Indonesia’s cosmetics market grew 4.7% in 2025, despite weakening consumer purchasing power. In line with this trend, beauty retailer Sociolla boosted its revenue 70.6% to US$52.7 million that year, according to the latest audited financial statements of its registered entity in Singapore, Social Bella International Pte Ltd.
The company’s loss before tax widened over 10x to US$13.8 million as a non-cash accounting charge weighed on its bottom line.
A key contributor to last year’s wider loss was a US$22.6 million fair value loss on financial instruments, a non-cash item, compared with US$506,585 in 2024. This came from a revaluation of the company’s convertible loan notes.
Sociolla did not respond to Tech in Asia’s request for comment.
The results paint a mixed picture as the firm prepares for a potential public listing and expansion into other Southeast Asian markets.
A large accounting charge
Sociolla sells beauty and personal care products through its ecommerce platform and physical stores. It also operates a B2B distribution business, supplying products to beauty retailers in Indonesia. Brands can market their products through Sociolla’s media platform, Beauty Journal, too.
According to its financial statements, almost all – over 99% – of last year’s revenue came from sales of beauty products and merchandise.
