Online bus booking startup Travelyaari has closed a US$7 million series B investment round led by Gujarat Venture Finance Limited, Bennett Coleman & Co, and other investors.
A product of Mantis Technologies, Bangalore-based Travelyaari helps users book buses, hotels, tours, and other sporting activities. Founded in 2007 by Aurvind Lama and Prateek Nigam, it previously raised a US$3 million series A round.
The recent investment will go toward growing its service network and online bus bookings. Over 5,000 road travel service providers will be integrated with Travelyaari, as well as more channel partners and agents, the startup said in a statement.
Mantis Technologies also runs BusCRS, a product for bus operators, and IamGDS, an inventory distribution service.
Genext Students

Mumbai-based edtech startup Genext Students has secured US$200,000 from crowdfunding site 1Crowd. The funding is part of a targeted larger round of US$1 million.
Founded by London School of Economics grads Ali Asgar Kagzi and Asad Daud in 2011, Genext Students launched services in 2013. The tutoring portal connects students with private tutors and also has digital content available, like sample test questions, videos, ebooks, and other study materials. It claims to have 600,000 users and 700 tutors on its platform.
Yesterday, Zipgrid announced funding it had raised through 1Crowd.
