1. Groopic | Pakistan

Lahore-based startup Groopic is a new camera app for app that puts the photographer, who is usually absent from photos, back into the picture. The makers describe it as a “new genre of camera-based application that uses augmented reality” to improve photos in a very natural way.


2. Duets | Philippines

Instead of the usual text-based communication app, a Philippines-based startup developed an iPhone karaoke app called Duets where you can sing to your friends!


3. Nightspade | Indonesia

At the recent Rock Star Dev 2013 event, Nightspade pitched Fun Points, a prototype gaming platform that runs on PCs and laptops but is controlled exclusively using mobile devices that connect to the PC via wifi. In short, it’s kind of like a game console that uses only hardware you already own. Check out the demo video on the link.


4. Codlo | Malaysia

Built by two Malaysians who are living in the UK, Codlo is a useful gadget that can help you cook ingredients at a precise temperature. The kitchen device is after crowdfunding on Kickstarter and so far it’s halfway towards its goal.


5. BeautyPlus | China

BeautyPlus is a photo editing and beautifying app for iPhone made by a Chinese startup. It has gained great traction for a paid app that’s only been around for two months, and is proving popular with women across Asia.


6. ITviec | Vietnam

ITviec is a brand new online recruitment site hoping to make its mark in the IT recruitment space in Vietnam.
