ClearTax

Less than a month after raising US$2 million in pre-series A funding from Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund Angel and Sequoia Capital, ClearTax has secured US$12 million series A round led by SAIF Partners.
The Y Combinator startup, founded by Archit Gupta and his father Raja Ram Gupta in 2011, helps customers file income tax returns, aiming to provide an alternative to the Indian government’s website that does the same. It provides tax-saving options to its clients, particularly the millennial population.
Voonik

Fashion marketplace Voonik Technologies has bagged US$20 million in a series B round led by Sequoia India. Times Internet, Seedfund, Beenos, Beenext, Parkwood Bespin, Tancom Investments, and Kunal Shah also participated in the round.
Founded in 2013 by Sujayath Ali and Navaneetha Krishnan, Voonik provides an array of fashion options for shoppers. It uses artificial intelligence to suggest options for browsing fashionistas. It claims to have 10 million registered users.
Voonik acqui-hired Getsty, a men’s fashion website, in February and recently launched Mr. Voonik, a men’s fashion portal, as well as Vilara, a marketplace for designers and boutiques.
Voonik was launched in 2014.
