The Neue Methode Social Entrepreneurship Competition

Neue Methode logoAIESEC, the global non-profit organization that focuses on youth leadership is holding a business plan competition targeted at students aspiring to be social entrepreneurs. Neue Methode is a competition that highlights and promotes entrepreneurship with a social mission and will reward the best with opportunities to receive mentorship and funding to bring their social enterprise idea to reality.

“This is a competition run by youths for youths to maximize your potential to become successful entrepreneurs, and at the same time make a positive impact on society through the successful running of your business. If you have an idea and you are seeking feedback, coaching and funding, this competition is for you. All entry participants will be invited to workshops that will provide best practice advice from successful social entrepreneurs, and help you create your winning proposal. Winners will receive cash prizes and opportunities to pursue local internships or AIESEC Global Traineeships in social enterprises.”

The competition will end on 18 Nov 2010, where participants will be invited to a symposium conducted during the Global Entrepreneurship Week and held in the National University of Singapore.


Submit An Executive Summary


Each registrant or team is required to draft an executive summary (in not more than 300 words) for their social business proposal. The executive summary should suggest improvements to an existing Voluntary Welfare Organization (VWO) to transform it into a social enterprise that is financially sustainable. The spirit of the VWO to help the needy disadvantaged in our society should not be compromised in the process. You can contact the VWOs to find out more details of their organizations.

3 October 2010: Registration Deadline
10 October 2010: Workshops for Entrepreneurship with social conscience
11 October 2010: Release of Preliminary Results
Early November 2010: Participants Presentation and Interview
Mid November 2010: Release of Final Results
18 November 2010: Prize Presentation
