Singaporeans are already familiar with global startup Houzz Inc. This US$2 billion home renovation and design company today announced a dedicated site as well as Android and iOS apps for Singapore. This move was prompted by “strong local demand for Houzz, coupled with Singapore’s growing influence in the global design community,” according to a company announcement.

Palo Alto-headquartered Houzz has a global community of millions homeowners, home design enthusiasts, and home improvement professionals. You can look up beautiful home photos, save them, find design tips, connect with design and construction professionals as well as homeowners, and manage home remodeling projects.

Over 150,000 Singaporean homeowners are already using Houzz every month and over 3,000 home professionals from the country are on it, the company says.

“Our mission from day one has been to deliver the best technology and experience for home renovation and design by addressing every aspect of the process,” says Adi Tatarko, Houzz co-founder and CEO. She believes that providing Singaporean users and home professionals with dedicated local content and necessary technology will make the home renovation and design process more fun and productive. “Designs from across Asia are some of the most popular and in-demand styles among the global Houzz community,” she says.

Adi and her co-founder Alon Cohen remodeled their house and realized how tedious and time consuming the whole project was. They didn’t have necessary resources nor experience to build it the way they envisioned. That’s why they built Houzz – to make the process fun and easy for others.

For trade professionals, Houzz acts as a platform to showcase their work, build brand awareness, connect with homeowners, and collaborate with clients at all stages of a project.

The company has raised over US$200 million in funding from investors like Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and GGV Capital.

Houzz has established a dedicated Singapore team led by Asia-Pacific Managing Director Jason Chuck to help both professionals and homeowners get the most from the new Singaporean platform. It now has offices in Palo Alto, London, Berlin, Moscow, Tokyo, Sydney, and Singapore.

Jason Chuck, managing director of Houzz Asia-Pacific, will be speaking at Tech in Asia Singapore conference today.
