Amazon has confirmed a US$1 million donation to President-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural fund.

Additionally, it will provide a US$1 million in-kind contribution to broadcast the inauguration event on its Prime Video platform.

This announcement follows a similar $1 million donation made by Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, earlier this week.

The donation comes as Trump indicates a potential improvement in relations with major technology firms.

Trump said Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is expected to meet with him next week after a prior meeting with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
