Sharma was the global head of products at Singapore’s digitally-native telco Circle Life. He has also had prior product leadership experience at Yahoo, Flipkart, and InMobi.
Through its platform, Milvik Bima aims to address the accessibility and affordability gap in emerging-market healthcare and insurance. Its solutions include health screenings, telemedicine, specialist care, medicine delivery, laboratory testing, personalized health programs, and insurance.
Founded in 2010 by Gustaf Agartson and Mathilda Strom, Milvik Bima’s services were first launched in Ghana but extend across nine countries in Asia and Africa.
The firm last raised a US$20 million funding round, with participation from existing shareholders Allianz X and Leapfrog Investments. The funds were used to strengthen its presence in Asia.
Milvik Bima’s latest appointment comes as the global healthtech market is set to grow to a value of US$295.4 billion by 2028, at a compound annual growth rate of 15.1%.
